Oct 9, 2022 · Most communities and businesses are moving forward to rebuild. Sanibel residents are a resilient bunch and love their island. They will rebuild. Private contractor barges are allowed on the island beginning today and I'm sure the island is hopping with workers who are there to begin the clean-up and remediation.

AMI: nicer sand and water, easier to walk on the sand, more gulf-front restaurants, more true gulf-front condos, easier to explore off-island destinations.
